As Director of Music for men2sing, John has been instrumental in providing the vision and direction for our musical output and performance style. Drawing on songs from many different genres he has created new choral arrangements and orchestrations, which have underpinned our diverse repertoire and unique sound. He has developed a reputation for creating dynamic choral arrangements of modern classic songs, which are regularly performed across the UK.

Drawing on a career that saw him first perform on the professional stage as a soloist at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden alongside Kiri Te Kanawa, he has subsequently been involved with many classical, rock and musical theatre projects, working in venues ranging from The Royal Albert Hall to The Theatre Royal, Waterford.

John is a published composer of musical theatre and has been musical director for many shows, concerts and other performances. He was Resident Musical Director for Brentwood Theatre for 8 years, during which time he composed and created orchestrations for their Christmas shows.

John is a also the Musical Director for New City Voices which he helped to form in early 2014. This mixed voice community choir attracts singers from across Chelmsford and surrounding areas.

Through his company, TS3, he creates Audio Signatures and Audio Branding for videos and other digital media, using music to trigger and develop brand recognition.

Could It Be Magic
           - our latest CD
Clare studied music at Royal Holloway University. After leaving, it was a number of years before she became involved with accompanying local choirs and amateur dramatic societies.

This has led to her undertaking the role of musical director for several local groups including Thurrock Thameside Musical Society, Basildon Operatic Society, Solomon Artistes, Benfleet Operatic Society, Arts Factory, BLED Productions and Two Faced Productions.

Her favourite shows as MD include Copacabana, West Side Story, Honk, A Slice of Saturday Night, Summer Holiday and Fame.

She is currently working with Basop on their production of ‘Sweet Charity' to be performed at the Palace Theatre, Westcliff in May 2015.

Clare is an accomplished pianist, rehearsing with and accompanying groups such as Leigh Operatic, Little Theatre Club, CDOT and Thurrock Male Voice Choir. This involves numerous shows, concerts and charity events. Clare joined as the accompanist to men2sing in May 2009.

Additionally, Clare also offers private piano tuition and when not playing the piano, she works at the Plume School, Maldon as the Student Progression Mentor in the sixth form college.
Our music repetoire is regularly updated by the introduction of new pieces, new arrangements, and by revival of pieces from our back-repertoire.
After spending his formative years at the Redbridge Music School, Mike attended the Royal College of Music where he gained qualifications in both classroom and piano teaching. For twenty five years he then taught in schools across Essex where he organised concerts and international choir tours as well as directing music for shows including, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, Guys & Dolls, Oliver and The Wiz.

Since retiring from the classroom Mike has kept himself busy as a choral and ballet accompanist. He also runs a U3A performance group and teaches piano from his home in Chelmsford. When not active at the piano, Mike also is also a bass player and drummer and he enjoys writing and arranging music for choirs and bands.
